So I just started using live plants in my viv and my BP went nuts! She started burrowing through the soil and investigating, but in the process got some of the soil packed in her gums and in one of her heat pits. She is now yawning like crazy to get it out and rubbing the side of her face that her clogged heat pit is on against the glass
Should I be concerned about this? Or is it ok for them to ingest a small amounts of soil? And what do I do if she can't get the soil out of her heat pit on her own?

Is your water dish big enough for the snake to get in and soak? If not, give it one. The water should soften the dirt.

It's plenty big enough. I'll check up on her after I get off of work. Thanks!

As for the dirt in the gums it'll probably get washed down the next time the snake drinks.
