Ok there are old world and new world rat snakes and even hybrids of the two. My question is where are the old world milk snakes, king snakes and gophers? The closest old world gopher I can think of would be a King Rat (stinking goddess, caranita) due to the heavily keeled scales and a european smooth snake for a kingsnake.

    Any opinions?

from what I've heard kings, milks, an pits are technically rat snakes; they atleast evolved from them. Thats why new world ratsnakes like corns are more closely related to kings, milks, and pits than their old world counter parts.

Thats what I've read too. Just looking for similarities that link the old world to the new.

The russian rat snake and the eastern king snake for example.
