Hey guys, I recently got a baby kenyan sand boa, I was wondering when can/should I start handling him? I'm assuming once he has fed consistently a couple of time but I wasn't sure how long that is especially considering he's a tiny tiny baby. Also how often should he be eating? I am currently feeding one appropriately sized every 6 days, does that sound right?

Another question, I've heard from multiple sources that keeping a sand boa in sand causes a lot of problems, but I was just wondering if keeping it in sand in captivity is bad, how do they manage in the wild?

The general rule of thumb on handleing is wait at least a week, for him to get settled in.

Handle by picking up the center part of the snake.

Sand and walnut shells can indeed cause serious problems. I keep my 3 on aspen.

I am an aspen user as well. How has the handeling gone?
