this is a question for people with big enclosures. in my new 4x4x6 enclosure i'm working on, i have a 250 watt ceramic heat emitter and a 100 watt basking spot bulb. i plan on buying another 250 watt ceramic heat emitter. should this be enough to keep a basking spot of 95 and an ambient of 85 year round?

Instead of continuing to buy equipment, set up your enclosure and see what the temperatures do. Thats the only way for sure to tell what you will need.
A 250 watt emitter puts out a LOT of heat!
