Just heard about it in the news. It is one of the primary sources of cage heat for me - I use them to create warm spots, rather than paying for marked-up pet store bulbs that are the same product in different packaging.

Anyone know more about this, or how it will effect us? Are we going to now have to pay the heftier price for "Specialty" bulbs to heat cages?

I switched to low wattage halogen flood bulbs some time ago. They last a long time and create excellent basking spots

I use a couple halogen flood lights and mercury vapor bulbs but I prefer the vapor bulbs cause they make a basking spot and also they produce uvb and day light
