I've got this super hypo male and after feeding him today he decided to do this.
Kind of weird, never seen a redtail do this. He has a hide.
Mind you, he's over 4 foot long so he had to go out of his way to bury himself.

    Anyone else?

My Sunglow will do that occasionally. He is around 5-6', so he doesn't actually get his whole body covered. He will cover about 18" and that will be how his head looks. lol

Maybe he aspires to be an anaconda?
When I had a red-tail he would do that when small but not when he reached 4ft.
I guess he doesn't know how big he is.

    lol

Not much of a boa person so never really experienced this.
He is currently completely under the bedding.

Just out of curiosity, what are the temps and humidity inside of the enclosure? Do you have an under tank heater or any source of heat coming from the bottom of the enclosure?

Ambient is around 83+/-, basking is 90 with a heat pad as well. Humidity is around 55-60.

if his hide is not to his liking (most snakes prefer a tight fit) he may feel more secure under his bedding. My Central American Boa used to do the same thing back when I kept eco earth in his enclosure.
