Last week I did a night feed. I'll say, it was pretty awesome!! She knew what was up, and was quick and aggressive about it. This week, I wanted to try and snap a few pics. I woke her up gently, and when she realized what was going on, lets just say "happy" is an understatement. She just got a new best friend!!

This one is a bit blurry. After their initial meeting, she wouldn't sit still for the camera. She was pretty excited.

She just held on for a second, and very nicely introduced herself.

I think at this point I was getting on her nerves. No one likes dad interfering with their date.

She escorted little Pinky to the depths of her enclosure, to give him a quick tour.

I peeked up and watched as inconspicuously as possible. She dangled from her branch and wrapped little Pinky up tight, as if to say, "I love you." Then she gave him the biggest kiss, right on the nose, it was the cutest thing ever. Their relationship was short lived. I told Liyah, don't be surprised if he doesn't call or write, since I knew things got a little rocky at the end. I went on and assured her, although he may not look the same, you will definitely see him again someday. She looked at me as if she understood. And with that, I told her I loved her and she slowly coiled up for a nice little nap.

I don't know how this thread got in general construction. I thought I hit arboreal boas. Oops. Sorry.

They are so cute when they eat!! my little one struck for her meal today, I was shocked! then she came out of hiding looking for more. She kept rubbing her nose on the carpet I feed her on. are they more likely to strike when they are hungry?

Your baby is so precious! can you handle her much? or is she mostly a look but don't touch snakey?

From the couple times I've fed her, as soon as she realized there was good in the cage, she was on it. That big old head and that skinny little neck comes poking out from whatever leaf she's under and she doesn't take her eyes off of it. She has actually struck for me every time. Last time, I waited until about 11:00 pm, once she was out and cruising around, and she attacked it like a wild banshee. Haha. And since she was already all sprawled out in her cage, she had it coiled in seconds. I don't really know if they strike more when they're hungry, I would assume so. From what I understand, they strike at almost anything anyway. Haha. So far, I feel pretty lucky. She gave me a quick little strike about 30 seconds after I unpacked her from her shipping box but hasn't even made a move at me since. And I do handle her. Right now, she's just so tiny and fragile looking, I'm super careful with her, and only hold her for about 10-15 minutes at a time. Usually after about a minute or so, she relaxes and just hugs my hand and wrist.

Thank you for saying she is precious. She has quickly become my little baby. Haha. And I didn't know you had one also Khelmoria. Do you have any pictures?? I'd love to see some!!

I do not have one of her...I was talking about my corn snake. I am afraid I might not be a very good parent to a more advanced snake....probably ever. I am so happy that you love her so much!!

Ahh. I misunderstood. Corn snakes are good snakes. One thing that I like about them is their crazy color patterns and variations. I guess that's why they're so popular. If you have a link to pictures, I'd love to see.

Thanks. I've heard they can be picky as babies, but once they get going, they're usually good from then on. I feel lucky. She's pretty docile and a good eater so far.
