Feeding day for the Corn, Rat, and Milk. Enjoy...
No Aspen was swallowed during feeding ;-)
You have the most gorgeous snakes! Love them:x
Those hides looks great, are they the same ones as these ones!
Thanks! I really appreciate that.
I make the hides myself. Appropriate sized bin, Krylon Fusion or Rustoleum Plastic spray paint, and a little time with heavy duty snips:
As you can tell from the above pics, I cut these down as I felt they were too tall. I simply used my snips to cut around the ridge making them more cramped for the snakes.
I allow them to cure for a week either in the sun or in a 10 gallon tank with a heat lamp during the day so the fumes dissipate.
I love the look of the Reptile Basics hides, and the ones you linked, but didn't want to pay the price and shipping. Paint is about $4 a can, and the hide bins are around $1 each. I have made about 10 varying sized hides and still have some paint left after 2 to 3 coats for each hide.
Smaller sized hides are made from sandwich storage containers - 3 for around $2.
Great idea! I love that you chose black as a color too!
Anyone ever notice That a white water dish can scare a snake away from it?
I have several white water dishes. The snakes could care less.
