In the past I have tinkered with using crate and foam to build backgrounds/accessories/ramps for tanks. I was considering doing this for the 75 gallon I will be putting together for my future dragon but am hesistant as I don't know how the back ground will hold up against the heat from the heatlamp on top of the lid. I didn't know if the area temp will be more than it can stand. Has anyone used spray foam for backgrounds/ramps and what was your experience? I am also considering going the styrofoam carved background and am curious as to what brands of cement/paint you have used.
