    That's a good idea.

    Discoids are legal in FL because they are native, which I would take to mean that any cockroaches you find in FL are legal to breed. That being said, nobody wants German cockroaches, and palmetto bugs CAN and WILL fly. Florida woods cockroaches are inadvisable because they spray chemicals in self defense, which, if sprayed in small, enclosed spaces, will kill themselves. No knowing what that would to to a herp.

    Do not order from Backwater. I have only heard bad things from it.

    Yes palmetto bugs definitely fly, at least some do (it seems most prefer not to, like praying mantises) and it's a little unnerving when it happens. Reminds me of one of those little RC helicopters circling the room.

    It's funny, I really wan't looking at Backwater at all, but after reading some of the comments here I searched them. Ugh what a disaster. My favorite was the guy who ordered a sulcata and got a newt. Common mistake I suppose, they look so much alike.
