Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

I just picked up House seasons one and two at the mall yesterday for my daughter for Christmas. They were marked down to $16 each from $59.99 each!

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

jeeze for that price i'd buy them too! I love having shows on DVD, makes it so I don't have to be glued to the TV, but the more popular shows are so expensive, like I would like CSI on DVD, but for $50 a season and like 7 seasons I just can't justify it....especially since it looses its fun after seeing the episode once or twice.

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

I love buying shows on DVD. I've been able to collect some of my old favorites lately, that never get played at all anywhere anymore. Then I can watch them as much as I like, and skip through parts I don't like. I've got quite a collection of old British comedies or action adventure series my dad introduced me to from the 60s or 70s (Wodehouse Playhouse, Saint, Avengers) plus some of the sci-fi shows I remember and love (like seaQuest, one of my absolute favorites), and a bunch of cartoon shows.

I actually prefer watching the DVDs to TV.

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

I've never bought a show on DVD, I'm too cheap. I don't think I have any "can't miss" shows, considering I haven't watched any TV in weeks. It all depends on if I have time for TV and if whoever I'm hanging out with (if anyone) likes watching it. When I am watching TV though, I can guarantee it's one of the following:

The Office, CSI, Bones, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: TNG, Futurama, Family Guy, Jeopardy!, Cash Cab, Meerkat Manor, Survivorman, Man vs Wild, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, or any of the random documentaries on Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel.

When I have access to digital cable I take the opportunity to watch Dexter and many of the shows on the Science Channel and National Geographic Channel. Occasionally I'll catch Heroes, but I don't need digital cable for that. I think The Office is the only show I've ever watched online to make up for missed episodes though. I love that show. I saw something I think was called The Reaper once too, and that was pretty good. It was about a guy who's the devil's bounty hunter, catching souls that have escaped from ****. I guess I love TV, but I love a lot of stuff so sometimes TV takes a backseat to other interests, such as of late.

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

Matt, who doesn't watch TV has the longest show list of all of us...

I just finished watching the first season of Dexter with Phil, now we have to wait about a year for season 2 to come out o DVD since i'm too cheap to pay for Showtime.

I am also going to buy Planet Earth on HD dvd, once we get the TV and the player which might be a little ways off yet.

OOH! and they are bringing back Futurama for 13 episodes on Comedy Central this year, i'm hoping Fox will pick it back up like the did Family Guy, I LOVE Futurama.

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

I love having all my favorite shows on DVD. I hate to wait a week between episodes! (Especially for shows like "24"... my husband and I watched each of the first 3 seasons in 3 days each: that's almost 8 hours a day. Insane, I know but they were THAT good.) It would have killed me to wait.
Just finished season one of "Heroes". I liked it a lot.
Looking forward to watching the next season of House...

Re: "Can't Miss" Shows...

I just bought "Tru Calling" seasons one and two on DVD today, unfortunately season 2 is only 5 episodes because they cancelled the show I always wondered why I couldn't find it anymore on Fox.

When I'm busy I don't watch much TV, but when I'm just chilling at home it's constantly on while I'm multitasking. That reminds me, I forgot to mention Dirty Jobs. That show's cool too. Oh, and South Park.
