Does anyone have picture of both for me to compare? I heard so much about this and got quite confused. Thanks.

well I dont have pictures but on the argy you will notice that down its sides there will be a line of dots that is unmistakable. and they also have a little more yellow in said spots. another one has to do with the scale on the snout. if its split its a col. if its one its argy. and if that doesnt help you can always just got with the size. argys get HUGE

Thanks, I keep forgetting, which one is more gentle and tame? Do all species of Tegu have Argy and Col? or just the Black/White?

I know this is a old post, but I think it needs to be answered.
I will post the differences. Note the first photo is a Argentine tegu, the second is a colombian tegu. The Argentine tegu has two loral scales, the Colombian has one. Also the Argentine tegus have lateral line, where the Colombian's is broken at best. The Argentines also have beaded skin, the Colombians have smooth skin.

Yes the Argentines are much better and become dog tame.
