Little One.

Even though I told myself I was not planning on buying anything alive at the Reptile Expo Saturday, I did eventually cave (in part knowing I have a empty tank, lid, UTTHs and plenty of substrate at home) And I purchased a CB Hatchling Colombian Black And White Tegu. I've always heard the Argentinian tegus were smarter, calmer, and easier to tame, but this guy(i think, not near positive) was great, just hung out, checking everything out, at the time the guy at the stand was not the breeder, he was watching his stand for him, and was not sure if it was argentinian or colombian, but since it was $30 I had the feeling it was a colombian. I would of been happy either way, though the argentinian would of gotten quite a bit larger. So now he's settling in, and checking out his new tank (which is temporary) Right now he's in a ten gallon tank, small, but granted he's a tiny little guy, Throughout this next week or two, i'll be finishing up The lid for my 75 Gallon Tank, and my Redtail Boa wil be moved into that, And then The Baby tegu can go in the 55 gallon tank.
Im rather excited, as I have always wanted some type of monitor or tegu.

Re: Little One.

Thanks everyone.
I think I did see those tomato frogs, I did'nt get up there as early as I wanted, Did you two see the 3 big snakes. (Gravid 9' Retail Boa, 8' Albino Burmese Pythons, and the 12' Super Tiger Reticulated Python) They were awsome, The Retic must've weighed 65 pounds plus. I also got to hold one of the Large Black Throated Monitors, and now my arms look like I played with a big iguana. lol. All in all it was a good show.
Alot of Red Eyed tree frogs were there too, and not near as expensive as ive usualy seen, i'm leaning toward Red eyes for my vertical vivarium, maybe itll be finished by next month and I can pick two up.

The little guys gotten more active since settling in a bit, is very curious, and remains very well tempered.

Re: Little One.

They guy who had all the red eye tree frogs and the tomato frog is the same guy I got Meatball and my red eyes from. Very healthy frogs. Apparently he has great success in breeding. He was kinda short on geckos this show.

I know shell left the show around 10:00. I didn't get there until 10:30. And yes, I did see the massive snakes. Did you see the gigantic igs?

Re: Little One.

I saw quite a few large iguanas there, though i'm not sure I saw any I would call gigantic, i didnt get there till almost 12 o clock.

The two vendors I saw with Red Eyes both told me the red eyes they had in were wild caught, Was it the stand in the middle, with frogs, geckos and tarantulas, or the guy with snakes, frogs, and geckos in the corner?

I also got to see (hush hush) A small Water Moccasin, though you didnt here it from me there was a venomous snake there.
