Re: Lost Tegu!!!!!!

How big is it? If it is small, you need to look anywhere he/she could fit. Under table, couches etc. What room was it in? Did you look all thru the tank?

Re: Lost Tegu!!!!!!

Hello,

Welcome to the site! When was the last time you saw him?

If I were you, the first thing I would do is rip apart the room he was in. if he is a baby, you need to inspect EVERY spot he could fit into, even if you don't think he would go there.

If you have no luck in the room he escaped from, then you need to start looking through every room, one at a time, the same way you went through the room he was in.

If you look hard enough, and there is no way for him to have gotten outside, you should find him.

Good luck.

Re: Lost Tegu!!!!!!

Hello,

He can get up the stairs if he wanted to. He can also climb up things, climb under things, climb in things, etc.

He could be under a t-shirt and you wouldn't know it unless you checked.

Reptiles are smart little critters. To catch him, you need to think like him. Try to trace a route from where he was last seen. Where could he quickly go from the time of escape?

How long has it been since you have seen him? This is important as it dictates how much time he has had to "look around".

Re: Lost Tegu!!!!!!

He's probably going to wedge under something until he feels secure enough to explore.

Yes, you need to check everywhere, if he can climb, he is curious, he will go anywhere.

Re: Lost Tegu!!!!!!

Hello,

If he couldn't have gotten outside, you didn't check everywhere. lol If you checked "everywhere", he would be comfortably back in his home already.

You should leave food out in the areas you believe he could be in. Even if it doesn't "catch" him, it will at least keep him healthy until he crosses your path. You could also setup a basking spot on the floor. The heat, which he needs, may draw him out to bask under it!
