Substrate Idea
My boss is moving his daughter back into town, and he had a box of this in the office. The website says 10 pounds, but the box I saw said 140 sheets.
I thought, "What a GREAT idea for us lazy herpers!" Well, for those of us with smaller enclosures, anyway. It's a bit more expensive than the end rolls I buy from our local newspaper printer, but I wouldn't have to hassle with all the cutting... just fold to fit!

Our paper company gives us end rolls free. I also recycle the newspapers for education papers for our school. Every Monday I have and extra 400 newspapers from school sitting on the porch. When using newspapers do you have to worry about the ink?

The inks that they use now on the recycled paper that they use for newsprint is non-toxic so the only drawback is that it takes up to 3 months for the ink to dry completely. The only problem with using it fresh is the ink can rub off easily on our herps.

Yes. I agree with Mark completely here. Why waste your money? It comes free with every RUV order.

Wow, then I should be set then, never thought to use it as a substrate . I just switched to washable shelf liner for the Bearded Dragons and Leopard Geckos, hoping it will be less work.

Ever try puppy training pads?? They are great! I use them. They are oderless and easy clean up, very absorbent and leak proof.
I love them!

We use hospital blue pad which I think are the same as puppy pads when Lizzy is out of his cage. Sean usually put him on it when he hand feeds him. He will do his business and we just throw it away. I use to use them all the time when I traveled with rabbits and cleanup was quick and not really messy.
