Bedding Question

I'm thinking about changing the bedding for my red tail boa. Right now I am using repti bark, but it is kind of hard to clean and also hard to find the feces in. I am thinking of either newspaper or paper towels, but the only thing I am worried about is my heat lamp and Under Tank Heater. Will using them be a fire hazard on the paper. The temps are about 85 on the bedding right now during the day. Thanks

Re: Bedding Question

Its good to get rid of that repti bark anyway, its a pretty bad substrate for any animal.
I would suggest laying down a repticarpet under the paper towels if your using a Under the tank heater with newspaper or papertowels.

Re: Bedding Question

I use paper in all my enclosures, with or without aspen.
If your heaters are hot enough to start a fire in the tank, the animal inside is long since cooked.
