Snake Brownies
So here's a funny story my friend Jack shared with me about some lady who freaked out when she discovered the snakes he brought into the building. He was making a brief stop at the TV station where he works, and he brought his animals in out of the cold and left them in their containers in one of the empty studios....and the receptionist didn't realize what was in the containers until it was too late! It is guaranteed to give you all a laugh if you've ever been in a situation where people are over-reacting over tiny little harmless snakes.
Quote:
Well, I often stop in here (the station) between programs if they're in the
area. Had lotsa animals in the car, including two snakes, so I brought them
inside and put them in Studio B to keep them warm. Joyce, our receptionist,
went poking around down there, saw the brown substrate through the sides of
my garter snake box and thought somebody brought in some brownies.
When she grabbed the lid, one of those brownies started to move and Joyce
went 911. I heard it first from some of the women in the biz office who
just about injured themselves laughing.
So, last week I went out front and told Joyce that I had a snake program to
do that day and would she be my assistant, whereupon she spilled the
whole tale...and declined to help me!
The moral of the story: always ask for a brownie first!

Re: Snake Brownies
It seems like every office has one of those people, doesn't it, who'll rifle through papers on your desk at will, or look through drawers, or help themselves to your snacks (the ones obviously not in a public candy jar)? It's kind of funny when something like this happens.
Though, to be fair, in some offices (like mine) people frequently bring in food items to share - chips and dip, cookies, pie, etc. - and just leave them in the break rooms expecting them to get eaten during the day. If this was the common practice in her office, it's not so unreasonable to think that she'd open a container she thought had brownies in it. But, if he left them in an empty studio, that's probably not the case here, which makes the whole unintentional prank a little sweeter.

Re: Snake Brownies
LMAO!! Oh wow, thats too awesome. When I was working in the physical therapy office I had a receptionist just like that and a similair situation, only in the box was a turtle one of the patients asked me to rehab and not a snake. The freak out was minor, but it's what she deserved for opening a box on MY desk.

Re: Snake Brownies
How great! I used to have parents in my classroom all the time who would freak out, even knowing that my little garter was back there. The best was when I had him in a little carrier to go home for Christmas holiday: he was on the desk amongst all the christmas goodies and gifts, and the gym teacher left my card in the hall because she saw him there and freaked out!
Gotta love it.
