King and BP Update

So just updating on my two snakes. My king, bj (beetlejuice) i got for christmas had his second shed so far, and since they are more active then bps I figured I would measure the sheds instead of tryin to measure the snake its self. He's up to 22inches so far. which I believe he was 19 almost 20 inches last shed.

Our bp has almost tripled in size since we got him in late july last year. He's just under 30inches now. and was 19inches and underfed when we got him. He is looking great compared to when we first got him. We were having humidity problems, but now I think we've got everything under control which is such a relief.

Re: King and BP Update

Just so you know, measuring the shed is not the measure of the snake.
The shed skin stretches.

Oh I know, but it does give me a rough estimate of their legnth. But the ball python we just measure him and not his shed since we've had so many shed problems.

Re: King and BP Update

We measure the sheds and subtract 20% for an approximation of the length of our snakes. Of course if you take a fresh shed, it's usually somewhat moist and stretches more. When it's dry it shrinks.
Still, it gives a general idea of the growth rate for difficult to measure snakes, like chondros.
Skeletor, glad to hear that things are going well with your snakes now. Anytime you want to post pics...
