Snake Stretching

Okay, I'm really really curious about this. Sometimes I will be playing with my Ball, and I will stretch him a little bit, and he'll make a lot of popping noises all through his body, like his spine is stretching and popping like human's do. I only did this about once or twice, but I was playing with my brother's corn snakes and they did the same thing! What is that? Just cartilage (sorry about spelling) releasing air like in humans? I'm just wondering.

Re: Snake Stretching

Do NOT pull on the snake and "stretch" it. You can seriously damage the spine and paralyze or kill the snake!
Same for holding the snake just by the tail without supporting the body.

Re: Snake Stretching

Yikes!! Please dont do that,, popping is not a good sound to hear,, the last time I heard that I had to have the poor thing humanely put to sleep. She had a ton of broken bones, from other reasons,, but again please dont stretch your snake,, if it wants to stretch it will do it itself.

Re: Snake Stretching

Okay, like I said, i haven't done it on purpose, usually just him pulling himself between my hands. But i'll be more careful
