There is a lake near where I live and the cotton mouths WILL actually come up in your boat after you- jet ski's and everything else- the lake is so overrun with the things they're incredibly territorial and if you get back in the coves and more secluded areas- you better be a snake person with a lot of experience....
but- yha, products like that really are just retarded.

Beth, which lake are you referring to?
I have frequented a lot of the lakes in your area.

Re: RIDICULOUS "Snake Slayer" Ad
That gun is a Deringer style pistol. I have one, and you can't hit the broad-side of a barn from the inside with it. How in the heck are you supposed to hit a small snake with one? Hahaha! You'd more than likely shoot your own foot off first! Also, I have been an avid fisherman ever since I can remember, and have NEVER came across a snake that was threatening me. Mind you, I have been fishing and had water snakes approach me, but have never been bitten or anything else. That AD is Scream!!! Are people "really" that stupid to buy into this kinda stuff? WOW!
