OOH! I love Berbers, they are very pretty and very active, I can't tell you too much more than that, because I haven't gotten any yet, I do know that they like to be able to burrow so most people keep them on a sand/soil mix and feed outside of the tank or feed worms from a dish to prevent them eating the substrate. Be sure to post some pics!

Just so you know, there's not a skink species I've encountered that doesn't at some time burrow. Even with my gold skinks, which are non-burrowers, I've actually seen them construct a burrow under the waterdish. Try using sand mixed with soil (more soil than sand) and two large flat rocks (one propped up on the other) to make a low cave/basking spot under the lamp. Skinks go CRAZY for that kind of thing...

I made a recessed moist hide underneath my basking spots using low profile tupperware containers with a moist towel in them (i was using moss but they were pulling out all out when they climbed out of the boxes)

Thanks for the links Marsha and thanks for the advice everyone else. I will post pics when they arrive.

The male (?) has apparently got a growth of some sort on his foot - I will post pics when he gets here to get opinions (vets trip booked too). He is not as handleable as the female (?) - any ideas for helping with the taming process???

This has been a busy week for me - 6 hours driving lessons, 3 rehoming cases and a load of rearranging the house to fit the tanks in nicely lol

He might be in pain because of his foot so that might make him testy, and as for taming, after giving him a week or so to settle in just take it day by day increasing the amount of time you sped with him, and make sure he has lots of places to hide so he doesnt get stressed out by the extra attention!

Okay - introducing Sid and Nancy (don't you love thier names - picked by me of course!!). Also a pic of th lovely viv they came with - they seem quite happy so far and I've even been able to handle the male - think he was a little stunned from the journey and I shall be watching my fingers VERY carefully with him!!!

I almost got a berber instead of my crested gecko. I love em, but I'll stick with my hand tame fire skink thanks. They look young! How old?
