OK, Now that I got your attention does anyone know of a website or info on sexing Irian Jia (sorry it's not spelled right) Blu Tongue Skink?

Would also like to know how to p[ost pic's on the forum. How big can a photo be. Almost all of mine are at least 250 kb or over.

I can't help ya with the skink,,,,,but as for pics. I use a host photo site (photobucket.com) then just copy and paste the link to the photo I want to display. If you want to add on from your hard drive, just post a reply and in the bottom you will see manage attachments. Browse your drive til ya get the image you want, select, and your all set

Unfortunately there is no reliable visual difference between the sexes. The males do seem to have a bit heavier head but by no means is that a good judge.
The easiest way to load pictures is to have them uploaded to a web album on a service such as photobucket.com and then link directly to the URL address. Photobucket will automatically resize them if they are too large.
You can upload pics directly from your computer by hitting reply, go to manage attachments and then browse your computer for the pictures. The maximum size allowed is 100x100.

Alright, I just went upstairs on a mission to take some pictures of my male and my female to show the difference...unfortunately it appears that only I can see the difference between the two and my parents and sister thought i'd lost my mind. I'm trying to find some good examples, but its still difficult. I left for the weekend once and when I came back they were in the wrong cages. The best way to tell is to watch them deficate, if its a male there is a good chance that he will push out his hemipenises and expose himself to you. I'll try to post pix of male vs. female diffs when I can.

Thanks, I'll keep a watch out for your reply. so far I haven't really found anything about visually sexing blue toungue skinks on line except for a lot of beating around the bush talk.

Basically there is no 100% sure way to tell unless you cath him/her trying to mate. It seems the best case in sibly owned skinks is to catch them everting a hemipenes or having the vet manually evert. Sperm plugs are also a good give away if you know what to look for.

I would be careful about having a vet pop the lizard to evert the hemipenises, if it isnt done right it can lead to problems.

I'm posting a pic of my male and female together just to demonstrate the similarities....Jack is on top and Tequila is on the bottom.
