i was told that it's ok to give my shingleback a mouse pinkie occasionally. i just wanted to make sure before I did, so does anyone know if it's ok to.

From what I have read most skinks shingleback included are omnivorous (eating both plant and animal matter). Generally a diet of plant and animal. Frozen mixed vegetables,various greens, crickets, mealworms, and thawed pre-killed frozen mice can all be fed to your skink. Fresh water should be provided daily.

There are several skink members aboard here, you will get great advise from them, lol

i did a search for info on here, and I found a thread with some good advice for what to feed them. i just wasn't sure if mice were ok
my boss gave me a few of ours so I just thaw one out and give it to him? how often should he need one of those?

Don't feed pinkies very often, the tend to be high in fat. To make up for the animal protein part of the diet try using silkworms, crickets, superworms, low fat dog food, bearded dragon pellets, baby food, or snails (shell and all) Maybe you should post this thread in the new skinks section of the site too! My thread looks lonely all by itself! I wish I was lucky enough to have a shingleback...I had a dream last night that I found one for $900...I would have scooped it up in an instant!
