I Recently Discovered the Fire Skink! I May Be Getting It.

Earlier today I came across a Fire Skink and one of the local pet shops near me. I absolutely fell in love with it's colors. I just have few questions.

Heating: Can heat pads be used?
Diet: Crickets okay?
Temperament: Over all are they pretty docile? (If I get one he/she will be a baby.) The lady said it's a bit skittish but it would warm up to me once it got bigger.) True?

I don't own one, but have heard that they like to burrow the majority of their time, especially when new.
