Problems with the Color of the Skin

hello, I have a sandfish skink, I adopted him form a pet store like half year ago, he has a very bright yellow and brown colors, is very healthy, is eating very well and he is very active and enjoy to dig in the sand. But last night he did not wanted to eat and he was very pallid, the color has gone almost. the only different thing that I noticed was that his tail was a little bigger like more wide or fat than usual. He´s doing everything that he use to do everyday
I´ll upload pics later
Somebody knows something about this or have seen something like this before??? pleas.
Thanks

Re: Problems with the Color of the Skin

I'm going to start groping for answers since I've never kept this type of lizard...but...here are some questions that are pretty universal for skinks:

1. Do you have a UVB source?
2. If so - what kind and how old is it?
3. What are your basking temps?
4. What is the complete diet?
5. How do you provide water intake?
6. Have you ever seen him drink?
7. What is the humidity level?
8. How old is he?
9. How big is the tank?
10. What kind of sand do you use?

I have s book here that goes into their care some so the answers will be coming from what I've read there and online.

Re: Problems with the Color of the Skin

Could he be going into shed? They get a lot lighter before shedding their skin.

Re: Problems with the Color of the Skin

thanks for the answer.
well he is back, he is felling way much better now, he has his color back, hi is eating well again, but the only thing is he still has his tail fat, but that does not seem to boater him, I´m going to do some test and lets see what is it, I´m sorry but his is no changing his skin, he does that in one day with any problems, this is different, but he looks fine now.
I´m following all the care sheets, I been doing some research and I have all his habitat just the way it has to be, so I hope it is just some indigestion or something, maybe he eats to much jeje,
Thanks for all your answer.
take care
