Re: Baby Fire Skinks
So will the skinks go back to Petco eventually for sale, or are they yours? And if you wind up with them, are you keeping them or selling them? lol, I don't want any, I'm just curious. They're definitely cute! Almost beats my baby roaches on the cute scale
Also, do you know what species they are? I know "fire skink" encompasses all skinks in the genus Riopa, if I'm not mistaken, with one being known as the "true" fire skink. I don't know much about the genus though, so I'm not sure which are available in captivity.

These are Riopa fernandis which is what you will find in like 99% of all petshops. The Lygosoma fernandi is the one they call the "true" fire skink.
These are mine. I haven't decided how many I will let go, but one is already gone. It leaves next Friday anyways. lol The other 4, at this point anyways, are staying with me. I knew I would be keeping at least one. I may sell the others.
Every egg I got from petco was mine. They don't incubate eggs there. they simply throw them away.

So free herps from work? Sounds like a sweet deal, lol. Maybe I need to get an incubator and start working there. I could see myself saying something like "Yeah, you guys should definitely order a breeding pair of frilled dragons...."

Re: Baby Fire Skinks
Congrats Rich! They are one of the more stunning species of skinks. It would be really hard to let go of all of them.

Re: Baby Fire Skinks
Is there anything cuter than babies? It doesnt even matter if it's furry or scaly or slimy, i think they're all cute
