Well we got the baby skink and it seems to be fine I'm gonna call my vet tomarrow and make an appt. for a check up. Its 5 months old and the lady that had him only fed him junky cheap cat food and canned peas and green beans, and had it in a 10 gal. tank.yikes.
He's a junk food junky
So I'm trying to feed him collard greens and rasp. but he only ate a few bites.
So I will see how it goes. I will post pics when its more used to its new home

Looking forward to the pics. Baby skinks are cute.

Canned catfood isn't bad if you get high quality stuff, like eagle pack.

My guys liked blended greens, pureed sweet potato and ground turkey burger made into a paste. They wouldn't eat intact greens, that had to be mush.

The lady who had my skinks before me only fed them canned fruit cocktail. Talk about having to break a bad habit.

Yeah I think I will have to make mush lol thats a good idea I think Ill have to go get a food processor or something Its just -30 below and its hard to go outside the air just sucks out of your lungs. He finally took a HUGE bite of food lastnight and it was very funny he stomps around his tank like a kid having a temper tantrum with the food falling down and around looking like its just too painful to eat it but he was hungry LOL He finally did it...
He's a little rascal already trying to GET OUT and play but I want him to settle in, the lady that owned him before always had him out hanging around her so he's very docile and sweet.
I had to replace the h2o bowl he dumped the other one out lol I am using a pyrex bowl for now...he's a trip
He finally started borrowing in the aspen he would only walk on top for most of the day(she had him on dirt) and he loves basking or to be able to do it or something (she only had a Under Tank Heater) so everything is trial and error but doing fine

Oh yeah a question...can you create a moist hide when its shedding time for a Blue Tongue Skink? Just like a leo's hide but on a much larger scale??

Mine always had a moist hide, and a pyrex water dish was a must.
