Re: Upgrade Coming - Downtime

Sorry, but I'm having a lot of trouble logging in. I've nearly always had to log in twice before it actually "takes", which isn't really that big of a deal, so I've always ignored it. Today, though, I repeatedly logged in at least six times in a row, and each time it brought me to the "Thank you for logging in" screen, then took me back out to the page I was on as a guest. It was only when I finally clicked on "My Info" and went through the process again that it actually logged me in.

Is there a way to fix this? I'm not sure if it was just because I logged in so many times or because of the location I tried when logging in that finally worked. I'll log back out and see what happens.

Edit: On logging out and back in - I'm still having the same problem. What I have to do to get in is go to an area (like to start a new thread) then wait for it to give me the large "you need to be logged in to do this" log-in prompt. Then it will only log me in if I check the "save" box at the same time.

Edit again: Looks like it works if I check the "save" box on the normal log-in on the home page as well. That's good. It makes it a lot easier. But do you know why it's started doing that all of the sudden?

Re: Upgrade Coming - Downtime

I really don't know why as I log in and out all day, from all sorts of different areas of Hc and it takes each time. (I am actually logged in twice right now under this name and my test account.)

What page were you getting this problem on? I will try to replicate it. Just a refresher, when was the last time you cleaned your cookies? (Cleared your cache.)

Re: Upgrade Coming - Downtime

I clear my cache every time I log off the internet as a general rule. (I think this stems back from when we didn't have a lot of space and I had to clean it out frequently, actually.) I have my options set to automatically clear everything.

I'm getting this problem using Firefox (the newest update as of today) on OSX. When you come to the homepage (herpcenter.com), it gives you a log in area. If I log in there and check the save box, it will log me in until I try to do something like check the latest posts. Then it tells me that I am not logged in and prompts me to log in again. I think after logging in the second time with the save box checked, it will keep me logged in for awhile. However it logs me off again if I sit too long without doing something.

If I don't check that little save box now, it doesn't seem to want to let me log in at all. I'm puzzled.

Re: Upgrade Coming - Downtime

Is there going to be some kind of notification of image comments?
If not, there should be.
Thanks!

I can look into that, but it isn't the highest priority on the list. That is a program I bought, but when I get some time I can see how the comments are tossed in and add a PM notification.

I'm on Firefox and don't really have any problems like that. The only thing close that I have noticed is that on occasion when I have to log in it will take me back to the same home page as if you weren't logged in, ya know with the adds and all... But if I click on a link to get away from that page everything is back to normal....

Reptile Link Exchange - Get Listed

It appears I made an error in one of the additions to HC I had posted about somewhere in this thread. lol It wasn't allowing members the ability to post.

Jesse from .: ForgottenFriend.org - Reptile Sanctuary :. was kind enough to contact me and let me know. lol Had no one contacted me, it would have remained that way for a LONG time. By this post, you can likely guess that I have corrected this issue and you would be correct.

Each link is manually validated by me, so don't try to think you can simply advertise. It doesn't work that way.

Needless to say, heres the link and it works now. If you want to exchange links with us, just add your site and boom, others can now find yours!

Re: Upgrade Coming - Downtime

I just tossed up the Reptile Books section of HC. It's powered by amazon and should help make the search for literature easier.

There are categories located on the right nav pane. Within those categories their are sub-categories. I didn't break it down by any further than that, but I will in the future.

If you are in need of some new reading material, give it a whirl.

I have it linked in the resources on the homepage, but will be creating a more universal system in a few where it can be accessed on any page. (With some other links as well.)

Here it is:

Reptile Books - Literature

Feel free to comment on it. I am always looking for input.
