Hi I just got a couple of fire bellied newts and i can't get the temperature to go under 80. I know ideal temperature is 65-75, I live on the third floor, I've placed the tank by the window but it hasn't dropped much, can anyone help?

What temperature is your house at? Do you use any heating with your newt cage? I'm not sure how to lower the temps, but I'm sure someone here can help soon

The family:
1.2.0 Leopard geckos (Bubba, Freckle, Speckle)
1.0.0 Ball Python (Maru)
0.1.0 Common Boa (Nagini)
0.1.0 Cockatiel (Bella)
0.1.1 Pacman Frog (Guacamole, Chimichurri)
My house is warm because its on the third floor, so i definetley have no heat on, and there is no heater in the newt tank. Do you think making the water colder would help? Do you know if i can put dechlorinated ice cubes in the water?
Get the cage away from the window, sunlight will make it much hotter !
I have one newt, but my house stays cooler and don't have an issue of the water being too hot...what are you using to temp the water with?

Oh dont worry the window will not face the sun theres a big tree. Um i didnt do anything specific to the water except dechlorinized, i checked the temp of the water its 68-70, but the ambient temperature is around 75 78, its a bit better than last night. I have a small fan pointed at the tank as well.
Huacho is that in Peru??? Temps outside must be hot there, do you have an air conditioner? that might help with keeping a room a little cooler. When I rented apartments I was always on the third floor or higher, I think I was cursed with the hottest apartments in the cities. Has anyone ever tried ice packs on top of the enclosures, heat does rise??? just a thought
