Re: can newts get ich?
That's precisely why I stopped keeping frogs. So sensitive. One freaked out when I did a 10% vinegar cleaning of the cage he was being moved into. It was allowed to air out after that too! Crazy little froggies.
Mind you I did have one newt, the hong kong newt, that was a tank. It was invincible. I couldn't keep its water clean it was so messy but nothing made it sick.

Re: can newts get ich?
=) sounds cool!
I think she is going to be just fine, but I am keeping a close eye on her. She seems healthy at least she has a good appetiet.

Re: can newts get ich?
I will thanks so much for your help =)
I may take some pics for your to look at. I see some small white dots in a line on the upper 1/4 of her tail. I am not sure if it is her natural colors or if I should be concerned. She seems to be acting healthy and eating..but I need to be sure. Plus, you know how her belly is a creamy color so it is hard to tell if she has symptoms or now.

Re: can newts get ich?
Ich generally is sporadic in pattern and doesn't form geometric lines.
But keep an eye open.

Re: can newts get ich?
just to update =) she seems to be doing very well...so I figure I am not going to treat her if she is acting healthy. I got lucky. I also think if she was going to get sick she would have showed signs by now? I am continuing to keep a close eye out. Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Re: can newts get ich?
I'd say she's ok. You're filter and/or her immune system probably handled any ich that was in the water If she ever does show signs you know what to do.
