Nah, I gave all my stuff to my mom cause I didn't think I was going to need it... I didn't know I was gonna end up with a siren! You don't think I should just get the 10i internal filter? Carol said she'd have more by the weekend. I think it would be ok... My tank isn't even full.
You said he was a clumsy eater, haha, I thought you meant he must have bumped his head trying to catch something to eat... I have no idea. He has a scratch on his back too, maybe he was thrashing too hard in that small critter keeper he was in before I put him in that tank...
Is that the other plant I have in there? A sword? Carol just recommended me some plants and I bought 'em, lol. I know I got a java fern, and somethin else... I dunno what the other thing was. I know the java will be fine with low light, I dunno about the other thing.
btw, how did you get a signature to work?

With the shot above I realized what I was looking at was a java fern. I can't tell about the other plant. Some anubias might be better as they are a lot easier IMO, that might be what the other plant is.
The water depends on how often you change it and what kind of water you replace it with. Does he like water movement or oxygenate water, you should consider that when you buy the filter.
The sig is toggled in the usercp, third button on the right way up top.

er, i still can't figure it out, ah well. guess i'm a rere.
i'm actually not sure what kind of water flow they like... i don't recall it being mentioned... i guess i'll have to look into that. i just read that internal filters were better to reduce the chance of escape, and because the water level is usually lower their tanks.

The signature feature doesn't activate untill you have been here a while and posted. This keeps people from joining just to put an ad for their own site in the signature line.

Oh, Cody, I was trying the brine shrimp thing again, and I saw it eat ONE brine shrimp- the one that just happened to float directly in front of his mouth. He didn't seem all that interested in catching any of the other ones. He did eat it though. It's annoying cause those ghost shrimp grab anything that touches the sand and eat it up quick (which is good I guess, cause I accidentally put a few dead brine shrimp in there too) and the little guppy fry keep picking at dead brine shrimp as well. So I guess I have some cleaner-upers. But the shrimp will occasionally grab the live ones too, if they are nearby. So I'm thinking, if I could find some live worms, that would be the best, cause I can stick them right in front of it's face and maybe it'll eat 'em.

Dig a hole, you'll find some worms.
At least he is going for food, I really don't know anything about them.

When I had the itty-bitty sallys from the creek, I got something called "black worms" from the pet store. They're pretty tiny (thin), and those guys slurped 'em like spaghetti. Dunno if that would be good for your siren...

yep, just gotta find black worms though... i was suggested black worms, red worms, blood worms, chopped earth worms, daphnia (but I think that might be too small), brine shrimp, ghost shrimp when it gets bigger I guess... i just got some more brine shrimp today, and I did see him grab one up, so maybe he's eating them. it's real hard to tell though. he's pretty secretive about it. i also got some frozen blood worms, so i'll try that once I get a filter, i don't want it fouling the water already.

Brine shrimp were popular withmy little ones, too. But they don't live too long in the fresh water...
Will it eat flies of come kind floating on the surface, if they're moving, or is it strictly a bottom feeder?
