Mating cresties
I introduced Riku and Daisuke my two adult crested geckos and last night I saw Daisuke trying to mate. I already have a laying box set up in there for her and hopefully she'll be gravid soon.
Does anyone know how long it usually take for a female to lay eggs after mating? I've tried to look it up and I just can't seem to find anything on it so I was just wondering if anyone else had any ideas.

she will lay them 30-45 days after mating and they will take about 70 days to hatch, youl want to wait 3-6 months before allowing her to mate again and during this time give her extra calcium supps hope that helps

Thanks, I wasn't sure how long it took for them to lay eggs. I guess we'll see in a month or so if she gets gravid.

It seems like an eternity trying to get the ball rolling. You'll be able to pretty easily notice her swelling up, make sure she can get away from the male as he'll be trying to get it on while she's trying to relax.

Should I seperate them or should I just leave her in there. There's two females and one male in together right now in around a 30 gallon enclosure. She seems to have plenty of space to roam around without having to deal with him or the other female. Should I put more hides in there and more foliage? (I have two regular hides and one moist hide plus a climbing vine, some silk plants and a laying box) I just want to make her as comfortable as possible.

Hey Beth,
I split my male and female up when I first found her 1 egg but they both went off their food and everything! They have alwayas been together before they came to me you see but only now after a couple of weeks apart have the mated.
My male doesn't really bother her that much - I make sure they have pleanty of spaces to hide away from each other and it seems okay - they both eat well and stuff
Good luck with the mating - incubating is soooo boring lol - I am on day 28 with my little 1 egg so far - nearly half way yyayayayayyyy

I took pictures but they are kind of X rated because he had her pinned to the glass right in front of me.
