Anything special for Cresties?

I just recently got a Crested (Dalmation Phase) Gecko for free from a guy I work with. I have him in a 20 high, with two live Coleus plants (non-toxic) and plenty of stuff to climb on. I keep the humidity high and feed him medium crickets/wax worms about 2 a week, and baby food 3 times a week. Is there anything else I should be doing? Thanks!

Sounds like youre doing everything right, the only thing I can think of is trying a crestie diet maybe once a week rather then baby food, its got more vits. And are you dusting the crix with calcium?

I would go for a better diet than baby food too - very high in sugar. even mashing your own fruit (my lot love that)

The only thing I can think of that you haven't done is post pics lolol

What I've done is mix natural baby foods with the T-Rex crested gecko diet and put it in ice trays and freeze them, that way every time I'm going to feed them I just pull an ice cube from the freezer and put it in the dish, let thaw by a light and when it's done just put it in there for the night.

Make sure to check to see if your crestie is actually eating the baby food, because if it favors crickets it could be a problem. I feed mine by hand sometimes to make sure their eating it and get them used to me.

Do you feed other foods though Beth alongside your baby food T Rex mix??

The reason I ask is that you are actually watering down the complete diet so then it is no longer a ocmplete diet but a meal supplement and will need to be complemented with some proteins and additional foods.

Just a though after I read about that on another site

Yeah, I mix it with baby food, T-Rex and calcium powder, plus I feed crickets a few times a week dusted with vitamins once a week and calcium the rest of the time. Sorry I forgot to mention that.

They seem to prefer the taste of baby food to the diet, So I understand why Beth does that, if I ever get Crested Geckos Ill be doing the same
