abbotsford show - wouldn't leave empty handed!

well, i went to the abbotsford show yesterday, trying to find another Chinese Water Dragon, which no one had. But, i couldn't exactly leave empty handed! I mean, i had money in my pocket specifically for the show! so, i ended up getting a fiesty littly 1 mo old crestie that I fell in love with on the spot. (s)he's adorable!

Planned on keeping it at mike (bf)'s house, since my 'rents would spaz if I brought home another pet. I ended up telling mike that the crestie will be his, since the Chinese Water Dragon was supposed to be ours, and is ending up "mine".

the gorgeous baby has tiger-striped parents, so i'm told, in a yellow/orange color, so i'm curious to see if this is how he/she'll turn out. right now, it's almost silver, looking like its getting ready for a shed. We've named it Spoon. hopefully have pics to post soon

ball python
poison dart frogs (that one will wait until i have my own place though!)

thanks!

as to questions, how much/often should we be feeding the little guy? we have some baby food and some small crix, but the only info we've found has not covered hatchling care/maintenance. don't want to neglectfully over or under feed it. thanks!

Hatchlings are ferocious. They'll eat 24/7. In the first year, I think I read, they increase size 400%

Anyways, keep the Calcium up and offer food at least every other day. I would rotate crix with fruit, they'll go after the crix way more and barely touch the fruit but they need the variety and will consume more as they grow. I think the hatchlings don't have the developed since of smell and attack anything that moves, as they age I think they go more off of scent and eat more of the fruit but will still consume insects. Maybe it's so as their energy requirements increase they increase their sources of energy
