    Most Accurate Hygrometer?

We are currently trying to get a crested gecko enclosure all prepared to bring home a little guy. We've got it set up and bought an exo terra digital thermo/hygro combo, and to be honest we are beginning to think it's a complete piece of junk. We are willing to spend money on a good ACCURATE hygrometer, ours is currently reading that there is 73% humidity when there is NO water in the tank at all. We want to make sure we can accurately monitor to keep our future crestie healthy.
Who has had good luck and accurate readings? Please recommend whatever brand hygrometer you use..
Also, where should a probe be placed in a crestie tank?

    Thanks!

    Re: Most Accurate Hygrometer?

Not sure about the most accurate thermometer/hydrometer but my Acu-Rite indoor/outdoor units (with wireless probes) all seem very consistent. At the moment I'm using three different models: (2) Acu-Rite 00611, (1) Acu-Rite 00831A1 and (1) Acu-Rite 00609A1. I prefer the 00611 units due to their additional daily high/low readings and the fact that you can use three units on three select channels.

Ok, I looked up the models that you said you liked and I was wondering, do you just set the sensor in the tank so you can read it off of the screen?

I put both units in the enclosure, one on each end. This allows me to keep tabs on both basking and cool end temps/humidity.

Thank you We're trying to figure out the best way to measure it and I don't think ours is too accurate..
