My Cresteds *lots of Photos*

The next is Stella. She cost me a pretty penny. She's from California. I had initially wanted to pair her with Haywire, and while they get along...they haven't "gotten along" if you know what I mean. He's a bit bigger than her, so maybe that's the problem.

Here are a few of my baby/juvies from AC stock:

And here are a few baby/juvies I picked up from Petco:

Here is the new baby coming to me this week:

Re: My Cresteds *lots of Photos*

Very nice. We have some babies that were born and incubated in our home. Right now I have a set of yearlings I'm trying to get rid of and a set of 6 week olds and 2 week olds. Have you done any breeding? I'd love to ask you some questions regarding breeding. My oldest female has laid 2 bad egg clutches and I'm wondering what's going on. Feel free to PM me.

Re: My Cresteds *lots of Photos*

Thanks for the compliments, everyone

I do plan on breeding Stella. She's truly a high end crested. At this point, she's laying every month but she's laying infertile clutches. I have put her with that big male, but they havent copulated yet. I still incubate the eggs as if they were fertile, but they mold over and candling them proves the infertility. Still, I let them be until they are smelly, just to be sure.

Why do you call them bad clutches? Has she laid fertile eggs that have hatched for you before?

Re: My Cresteds *lots of Photos*

Yes she has laid good clutches. The first hatching happened and we weren't aware that they had reached maturity to even be having babies. Needless to say, those hatchlings didn't survive. The next clutch led to my yearlings. The 4 babies I have now are from the parents but the last 4 eggs she's laid have all been bad. The last 2 she never even bothered to bury and laid them in her hide (which she has never done before). Any advise is appreciated.
