I Got Them!!!!
Sooooo I got two Crested Geckos today! I'm good friends with the reptile specialist at petco and the two Crested Geckos there hadn't been sold in months so I asked him if I bought one could I have the other for free. He said yes!
One is a male for sure and the other I think is female. I can't see a hemipenal buldge or pores. They are stunning creatures! I ended up with some pretty gorgeus ones! I think the male is a harlequin dalmation. I don't know what the female could be, she's definentaly dalmation but she has orange on her under side so maybe a bit of creamsicle? Maybe you guys could help me out with that one when I get better shots. Right now I have them in a 10 gal for the time being. I'm going to move them up to a 20 high in about a month. I already got bit by the tailless one and my girlfriend got bit by the male. They'll definentaly tell you when they've had enough! Not only that but they had to have been pretty stressed. I had one question. I bought some crested gecko diet while I was there to hold them over till I got some good stuff. What do CGD do you guys use? Enough talking! Time for the best part! PICTURES!!!!! The body shots of them were a bit blury and the close ups are dark. I'll get some better ones up after they've settled in to their home. Here's a couple of their home. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's the male. I don't have a name for him yet so he's just John Doe for now. Just chillen on my GF's back =](she loves them so much) ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's the tailless female Nubs! She's quite the jumper and definentaly loves to explore more then John Doe. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: I Got Them!!!!
Diet Research
Check that thread out. It should answer all your questions about diet. I have to ask, what were you doing to get bitten? I have never heard of a Crestie biting anyone or nor has mine even come close to trying.

Re: I Got Them!!!!
They are too stressed out to be handling right now. You need to put them in that tank and leave them alone for at least a week, maybe two.

Re: I Got Them!!!!
I use the Repashy diet. I used to use the TREX, which is also excellent, but my collection got WAY too big to keep buying such small amounts. Cuurently I have 13 adults, three juvies, six babies, and 22 eggs! One thing I like about the Repashy diet is that there are different types of nectar you mix with the base, so that your Crested Geckos receive variety. Bye

Re: I Got Them!!!!
I mean no offence by this but as was already said-
the less that you handle them and the more time that you give them to settle in -the less stress that they will be going through and extreme stress can kill them I personally handle my lizards very infrequently but that is just my way of keeping them Good Luck with your new Crestie's-they are beautiful ! |

Re: I Got Them!!!!
Thanks for the comments guys. I know about the stressing thing so I would like to not
hear any more of that please =] So far Nubs is doing really well. I had a cricket left over in my tongs that one of my Whites didn't want so I tried to see if one of the Crested Geckos wanted it. Well Nubs went crazy! I didn't know how fast these guys are when it comes to food!!! This was the second day I had them also so that was a good sign. Tails on the other hand hasn't been interested in any of the crix I've offered. I've been giving them CGD every other night but I can't tell if they're eating it. I think they were fed baby food at the pet shop so I'm going to have to slowly convert them over.
