Re: I'm Treating Myself...
Actually, your setup sounds just fine. Despite what all the caresheets say, Crested Geckos dont need nearly as much humidity as it is suggested. My breeder lives in the desert in arizona, and he has been successfully breeding cresteds for a long time. The only thing I do for my crested as per humidity, is I mist at least twice a day, and I water the plants. That's it! When he shed, everything came off perfectly without a stitch. So don't stress about the humidity so much, worry more about the temps. you don't want it going above 85.

Re: I'm Treating Myself...
I wonder how long any of those poor Crestie's lived with the advice give for that high of a temp range?
Why do pet stores insist that every species of lizard needs a bright white basking bulb? Such a pity.......... ![]() Mine have done fine with no lights and fake plants and paper towel on the floor of the aquariums that I keep them in I mist them nightily and feed CGD and crickets and they are living art for me to enjoy their antics in their tanks I DO watch the temps in the summer and I have them in the coolest room of the house so that I can turn the a/c off once in a while I have found my Rhacs to be easy to care for..... Re: I'm Treating Myself...
i agree completely. It's ridiculous. In the daytime in the summer I don't use any heat for my crested. The AC gets cold at night so I use a 75 watt bulb. directly under the bulb it never gets hotter than 85. In the winter and colder months I use the night bulb 24/7 because my house gets cold (oil is expensive.) I also use a 2.0 UVB, but only to simulate day and night. Not because he needs it. He seems to be skittish, but accepts baby food and crickets without a problem. Although I can't handle him, he's a neat little creature, and I'm glad I have him
