Weird Crestie mating action

Sorry, no pics you sickos.

Anyways, for those of you unfamiliar with it, generally the male walks up to the female and licks her a bit. She then squeaks, he bites her on the lower body (can hang from tail, very funny to see). He slowly moves up the body with a series of bites, finally biting the crestes on the opposite side of the head from where he is. He then (usually) maneuveres into position for the score.

Unless we're talking about Bean, the female.

We have a male, Pika, who can mate with ANY female. He even cuddles after and shows affection by licking them on the end of the nose (he does this if you eskimo kiss him). A very sweet gecko. He was put with Bean for her first mating, no big deal. She actually lifted her tail to help!!! They mated for a record SIX MINUTES! They seemed to like each other until today...

Usually the females have little bits of dried/dead skin from the mating bites, especially on the head. No big deal. The male, Pika, has the skin on his nose basically cut off. It's insane, like a bad rug burn all the way up to his eyes!

So it turns out that Bean cannot live with males OR females, as she beats up every roommate that she encounters (and even tries to stare down the infamous Twitch). I decided since she's receptive to try out our new, much rougher and tougher male, Miku. Things are going well, he mated her and we shall see if she lays the smack down...

Violence usually goes the other way. Males hurt females, not females beating on larger males. Man, I always get the crazy animals...

Edit: SCIENTIFIC CONCLUSION: obviously, she likes sex but hates men. Clearly she's what we call a "sucubus" or an extreme feminist not content with complacent, well behaved women or living with men. Sigh.

Could be you have a hot female (females incubated at high temps), they tend to be more aressive to males during or after mating if they will mate at all. It's good that she's reponding to mating hopfully she won't beat up on this one.

That sounds about right

Interesting. I havn't heard of this before, but if it does occur in some cases, that might be the cause. Although I know through personal communication with Paleontology! and observation of this particular females behaviour that she is willing to mate (quite readily).

Like crazy. Mating for her, all the time. She's just mean to everyone after.

This new male has her cowering in a corner, I'm giving them a bit more time to work things out. Otherwise she'll be in her own cage.

Re: Weird Crestie mating action

Excellent. Maybe she'll get shown her place. Be submissive Bean, be submissive.

Re: Weird Crestie mating action

that's like telling twitch to calm down and lower her guard. Bean is a firecracker, to quote the guy from futurama, she was a handful when she was little and she's just more aggressive now. She's so awesome.

She is also a polydactyl. Awesome.

Re: Weird Crestie mating action

Haha, very true. My only hope was that she would calm it down a bit, but you spend more time with her than me, so I will have to give your analogy due credit.
