babies!
Our babies hatched, finally. One on Wednesday and one on saturday. The one on saturday hatched when I picked up the egg to see if it had discoloration (as it was a few days later than it's already late sibling).
One baby did the first sluff totally awesome. The one that hatched on wednesday has yet to finish, despite our best efforts to help. Seems to have affected walking.
Is it normal for babies to:
-not curl their toes when they walk
-be bad at sluffing or get lazy with it
-not quite have the hang of using their tail for much of anything
Any comments would be of help.

no pics available yet. Sending some out tonight via the internet to friends. We got a video of the one that hatched in my hands' first steps. We also caught Pika, their father, mating with Luna our stumpy and fat girl. Actually we put them together outside the cage and a mating ensued.
We got the skin off the one baby. His walking turned better instantly. Took some saavy and skill but in the end it slid right off.

Nice looking babies. In my experience:
They are a little clumsy as babies. They're feet don't work as efficiently as an adults, they probably have to get used to them sticking to everything. I've also never had perfect sheds on hatchlings, nothing to cause problems, I just don't think they quite understand it yet.
The tail on the ones I hatched always wrapped around everything when being held. I think it's a fail safe for their lack of climbing abilities, the hold on with their tail in case their feet slip. As they grow they use the tail less, in nature a survey showed about 95% of adults as tailess, so it is thought that the tail is lost as it gets in the way during adulthood.
