thanks for the toe thing. They aren't eating much right now, I'm reluctant to offer crix yet, though most baby lizards go mental for them. I'm gonna try helping them eat by hand feeding, most babies respond well to that from what I've seen/read.
I think the tail thing is very insightful; odds are it would be lost in intraspecific combat or predator escape, hence why the bright yellow spots are on the tail. My babies don't use their tails at all yet; one of them prefers to burrow almost all day instead of climb and run around like crazy at night.

Talking about tail related issues, I've seen a very weird behavior in my gargoyles since I've put them together.
Whenever they cross paths they fight and because the female has been kicking the male's derrière, he remains very still and makes his tail twitch like a nervous muscular spasm.

Steve, after the first shed they'll accept all foods. I wouldn't bother with hand feeding, it's going to stress them and they need to learn to eat on their own. Go slow and let them grow! There's so much genetic diversity in these geckos that they're behaviors do vary.

for the gargoyle thing:
Lizards shake their tails sinuously to attract attention to it so they can escape when they drop it. I've seen it in skinks and geckos.

Hello,
The tail shake can also signal other things in addition to what Steve posted. One of which is a warning. The tail twitch can indicate aggression. It can also indicate excitement. Many Leopard Geckos do the whole tail twitch routine immediately before they strike for their prey. It is also used as part of a courtship.
Great looking babies Steve! I would follow Cody's advice and let them do their thing for a bit without any interference. They need to get comfortable and learn. Don't stress them out too much. It could cause more harm than good.

They seem to have warmed up to people. Their toes don't stick together as much and they are finally learning how to unstick themselves from the glass. I don't think these babies come with an "anti-predator" protection package.
