Cresties

This is what our member has to say: I am really interested in getting a few crested geckos...what is a reasonable asking price for them. (just the normal colour morph...nothing fancy)...

Normals are decently priced, some sell then cheap for 29 if unsexed, sexed is a bit more. I know ive seen 3 babies at a show for 70 or so. Being that your in Canada. Its really hard to tell our prices. I know there are several people who keep Crested Geckos on here, from there. Might see what they have to say they could point you mre in the right direction.

Oh and welcome to HC

No cheaper than 65 I've seen in Canada for normals as far as I've seen.

pet stores are about 145-209, depending entirely on the chain and how evil they are.

Wow looks like Canada isnt the place to go Crestie shopping! I usually see them for about $45 around here.

Most all captive born reptiles there are expensive. A friend of mine, spent alot at a show and only got 3 normal bps. granted one was 2 years old, but still it was like 200+

I got 2 at the sept 10 expo in Missisauga and I paid $50 for one and $100 for the other. The $100 one is from crestedgeckocanada and was a very good buy.The REPTILE WRANGLER in Barrie breeds their own and they sell them for $99.00.Chris has a great shop but he did not have any when we were looking.

You might try emailing our member Dee here, she is from Canada and is a gecko breeder, she might be able to point you in the right direction.

Thank you for all your help...I'm sure you all understand that financing can be tough (even though I already have all of the housing equipment).

And it is very true that herp pricing in Canada seems to be much higher than in the USA (even with the exchange rate)

Largely depends on the sex of the gecko. Females are much more expensive in my experience.

There are a few shows in MI and a few crestie breeders also. I don't know what the border crossing requirements for herps are, but that is a possibility. The closest herp show for me is 1 1/2 hours away and I'm a little over an hour from you (Port Huron). Just a thought.
