Nikita didn't eat!

Her last feeding was 7days ago and then she ate well and inside her feeding box.Today I did the same thing as last time:thawing the rat,put rat inside feeding box, take Nikita out and into feeding box. After a few minutes I had a look inside and saw that she had the rat's head in her mouth.About 10 minutes later I went to have another look and the rat was still there and Nikita wasn't interested in it.So I left her in the box with the rat for about 45minutes or so,but she didn't eat.I don't think that it's because of the temps of the rat, because her very first f/t she ate when it wasn't warm anymore!!Thought I will try on Monday again.Had to throw the rat away.
What could it be that she didn't want to eat? She ate for me two times before f/t.I hope she doesn't want a live rat!! Thought she got over that quite quick, and I was so happy about it.Hope she will eat on Monday, otherwise I don't know what I shall do!!HELP!

It may have been that the snake just wasn't hungry yet, or she is getting ready to go into shed. It's also possible that the snake decided to go ahead and feed anyway and when you looked in on it it spooked her and thru her off. She is already feeding on F/T. She will take them again. I'd just wait a week until the next regular feeding day and try again.

Thanks so much Merlin!I,too, thought first that I might have spooked her,but then I looked several times at the last feeding in the box,and she seemed fine with it.But she needed quite some time to swallow the last rat.But this time it was the same size(about the width of her thickest body).I don't think it's too big, because she had even bigger live rats.Well,I have to wait and see how it goes next time.
As far as I know,Nikita was always hungry at the previous owner and ate every 5-7 days or so,about 2 rats each feeding.
I must ad that she was very active after I put her back in her terrarium and was climbing around all over the place,so I guess she's ok and not ill or anything. But she didn't rattle when I took her out of the terrarium and she didn't rattle when I took her back, only when I stayed to watch her,so this is a good sign that she is getting slowly used to me .
If you don't mind,I keep you posted how her next feeding goes! Thanks for your interest! (hugs and kisses!)

same with my snakes. Chaos and Blizzard don't always eat every single week. sometimes they go 2 or three weeks without then start eating again. older snakes don't always eat every single week I don't think.
