Shedding again?!

Since two days I haven't seen my Nikita;first I thought that I frightend her too much by cleaning a part of her home just in front of her face. Then I thought I disturbed her maybe by putting a new hide inside her home and I was worried that I upset her too much while she's settling in.But then I thought that because she is an older snake and used to people, this couldn't be the reason could it?!Well,I was worried some more that she is maybe not happy. My boyfriend joked that she was roaming around for three days and has now seen it all and just isn't bothered anymore, lol.
Then, just a moment ago,I remembered that while she was watching me three days ago,I noticed that she had kind of dark-grey-blue eyes! I never thought that she could be shedding again so soon, because of her age and the fact that she shed 3 times in two month short before I got her!First I thought she was blind and I tested her reaction by placing my finger on the glass for her to follow it,lol. It can't get more dumb!! I had to laugh about my stupidness!
Well,I really do hope it is a shed.
Just had to tell you this. But it's not very good having a snake shedding in her settling-in time,is it?! Thanks for reading.

I don't see why it would be a bad thing. On the contrary: it guarantees that she will be left alone and not disturbed during her settling in time. You also won't be tempted to feed her too soon since you should wait till she sheds.
Don't worry about it. Just make sure she has enough humidity. (spraying her/the terrarium daily with water, or a moist moss box.)

I'm always happy when a new snake sheds, it's just one more sign of a healthy snake. Plus you get a new shed to add to the collection!

Two of mine shed right after we first brought them home. It wasn't a problem at all, and like Andrea said, it guaranteed that we wouldn't be too tempted to hold them or feed them during their settling in time.

Andrea,I wouldn't have disturbed her anyway,I'm a patient person and when it says leave her settling in for two weeks,so I do!
Jay,I'm happy too when a snake sheds, but not if the snake is 7-10 years old and only shed 3 weeks ago!!And before that she shed two times within about 6 weeks!!! That's just crazy!!! That guy just stuffed her with rats like crazy!I think it's because she's too fat and that's why she sheds so often.I hope this will change with time.I sure won't feed her within the next 1,5 weeks!! I don't want to risk her health.I read once that snakes who eat too much and grow too fast don't live as long! The guy got her about 6 month ago when she was a bit more than 4' and now she is more than 5'.I think it's just not healthy for an older snake. It's just not normal for her to grow about 1' in such a short time. For a baby,ok,but not a 7-10 year old!

well Jacky...if the pet store guy was gorging her on rats...then I would think every 3 weeks is not unusual for shedding...I have a 3-4 yr old cal king snake and feeding or not, he sheds once a month....so maybe its not unusual for every three weeks...my new ratsnake just shed yesterday, so I will time how long it is until his next shed....Lyn

Thanks Lyn. I just thought it is not healthy to stuff a snake like that! The reptile store lady told me that it is not normal, because she had the snake about a year before that guy I got her from bought her! And before that she didn't shed so many times.
Can I get her back to normal ,what do you think? If I feed her only every two weeks,do you think she will lose weight (She is too fat)?? Every two weeks one medium rat or two smaller ones is all she really needs and should get!
Thanks for your help!

I would think if you did that feeding ritual, then she will slow down the sheds...and lose some weight...a fat snake is definitely not a healthy snake....good luck with her...she is in good hands now...Lyn
