BIG Rainbow!

Hi everyone:
Well Talyn just shed again: one perfect piece. Since we got the Green Tree Python babies we've started measuring the shed skins and subtracting 20% to get the approximate size of the snakes (as you'll almost never see a Chondro stretched out!)
Anyway: I always guess-timated that Talyn was about 180cm (5.9ft). But the skin she shed on Wednesday measured 262cm! Which would make her about 210!! (6.9ft!!) (Even if we subtracted 25%, she'd still be about 196cm -- 6.4ft!!)
Either way, she's a big girl.
Here are some post shed pics (She looks really fat, because she just finished a big post-shed rat 182g.) I've got her on a diet now, only feeding her between 150-200g every 3 weeks instead of every 2 weeks.

And a close-up. (The scar on her head is getting smaller and smaller with each successive shed. It was a big white scar when I got her almost a year ago)

Thanks for looking!!

Thanks Ken, thanks Venus!
She's really wonderful. Her head and neck seem to be getting darker and darker with each shed too.
I call her my "big fat cow"... but I say it with love in my heart.

Beautiful pics Andrea, as always - Talyn and the camera are great friends! And a big girl she is - i believe they are capable of reaching 7ft in some cases, more likely with females, but it is more common for them to be smaller than that. In any case, she's one in a million, and her scar is almost invisible now. Great to see her looking so well as always.

Scar before

Here's a pic taken about 10 months ago. She had this white scar when I got her, I have no idea how she got it.
But it sure looks a lot better now!
And you can really see how much darker and redder she seems to be getting. (Although some of it might be the different lighting in the photos, she really is getting darker.)

[IMG][/IMG]

Thanks for all the compliments. Talyn and the camera aren't really best friends, but sometimes we get lucky!!

Yes the scar has really healed well. She is getting darker - ours are also changing colour as they get older. Our male turns quite light at night, and his sides go a really pretty grey colour, but he has never been the most brightly coloured rainbow. The female is a bit brighter, and they are both stunning in their own ways, but Talyn really is beautiful.
