Hi Dark Magician: I've since started a poll on quarantine where I've continued this story. Told so... so many times!
Fortunately, Talyn is showing no signs of having caught anything. She has not made any noises and I checked her mouth, nose and throat area carefully.
Q is in quarantine and is on a 10-day course of antibiotics. But she still mews and makes noises sometimes.
The vet was confused... she looks healthy: has absolutely NO physical symptoms of any type of RI... but the noises she makes are unusual and the vet didn't like that, thus the antibiotics.
The vet thinks it might also be structural and the sounds may never go away, but recommended quarantine at least till the antibiotics are finished...
Then what?????????

If the source of the noise is just structural then it really should not affect Q in any way other than the production of strange noises. It is apparently not causing any sort of problem that the vet can find. It may be a birth defect of some sort or the result of some injury.

You may just have to tell people you have one of those incredibly rare "Whistling Boas!"

Thanks, Merlin. We're almost at the end of the course of antibiotics. She still "mews" and "whistles" and ""clicks" sometimes. She really just doesn't seem sick (just sick and tired of getting injected!!!)
She has those two scars along the sides of her head. Check out the 6th post on this thread to see them again: More Q pics
They are very old scars and I don't know when or how she got them. To me it looks like someone caught her and/or held her head down with an open pair of very sharp scissors!) I sometimes wonder how deep they go and if that might affect her breathing.

More and more I think you are right Merlin and she's just "one of those incredibly rare "Whistling Boas!"
