Just an Update :)

Sorry it's been so long since I've been able to get on here, I do terribly miss this site and all the help its been to me during the first few months of snake ownership

So I took a few pics the other night and thought I'd share.

Those 3 are from this week, Flint @ about 11 months old, and here's a few from when he was just 2-3 months old to compare

he has about doubled in length and weight since I got him, and I adore this guy more everyday.

He is currently living at my best friend's appt (mom will NOT have a snake in the house lol), who loves him darn near as much as I do, and she keeps his humidity perfect and plays with him everyday. he is in perfect health, my vet is very happy with how hes doing. I see him twice a week at minimum to feed and him and have fun maintaining his tank :P

I also have all the materials to complete the wooden structure of his permanent enclosure. The basic box is done, I just need to finish it with the drawers, side paneling, molding, face plating, then all I will need is the glass doors, and cage furnishings.

I am very excited to get that finished, as it will mean I can fill his current cage with something else :P I am considering a Fire Skink or 2. Something that will live in there permanently.

Anywho, sorry about the quality, those pics are from a cellphone. I will need to get him to my dads photography studio for his 1st birthday February 1st and see if we can capture some of his spectacular iridescence

Beautiful! Those are some gorgeous snakes, I'd love to someday get a chance to own one(Or at least see one in real life!)

Yes the more I look at him the more I love his coloring and everything about him. He has never nipped at me, never even hissed. Even when he had pneumonia and I had to give him oral medicine, never an ounce of aggression from him. Then again, anything that has a hint of fuzzy smell on it and gets near him while in his feeding cage is apt to be struck!

Just be sure to have all the husbandry needs set-up and ready before you get one! I know that goes without saying, but I made the mistake of not having a thermostat, or proper hygrometer when I first got him. we had a rocky start with RI and one bout of pneumonia. But once you have the humidity, temps, cage set-up etc. taken care of, they really are amazing snakes.
