Trip to Reptile House

I almost came home with a Brazilian Rainbow Boa...
the people there know how to get to me by now. I was googling over them and he put a sweet little one in my arms. I almost walked out of the store with him.
The ONLY thing that stopped me was my mothers voice in the back of my head.

I want one though.. they're absolutely beautiful. I've been looking into the different boa species and I think I may be set on the Rainbow...

Any tips from owners?
The Reptile House had CB ones for 130, does that seems like a good price?

I'm still in love with the ball pythons so I don't know, but if I can talk my mom into letting me get one more animal I know for sure that it'll be a snake (my room can't handle the intense heat lamp of another lizard).
Ugh... my snake fearing mother is going to be the end of me!

BRBs are not the best beginner species of boa to get, but I know you will care for him/her properly so Im not worried. Yes, thats a good price for a Brazilian Rainbow Boa, they are a species that dosnt get too big, and they tend to be more slender then most of the other boa species. You dont wanna feed a Brazilian Rainbow Boa prey size thats too much bigger the the girth of its body, they have a pretty good regurg rep, and usually the cause is wrong prey size. High humidity and moderate temps, I believe not higher then the upper 80s? But I could be wrong. As you know BPs are picky eaters, but BRBs can be as well. Haha, I dont know, I think your mom would find the Brazilian Rainbow Boa more attractive then a BP, so maybe she will go for it?

Theres several bos out there that are awesome. My friend has a Boa Constrictor Amarali. it is just awesome, id love to get one of them. BRBs are great, beautiful and just awesome. Humidty is one reason I dont get one, and uh with Loki, room will be gone lol.

As Savannah said, BRBs arent the best to start with for boas. She is right that you will care for it properly. Where all have you looked at diffrent boas at? Some get big in girth and length, if you dont have someone to help you with a 10 ft boa, it might be hard at times. I think all snakes can be picky eaters, they are like us in a way its like oh bother food lol or the same ole same ole. Just before buying make sure you read up alot, heck even set up a tank for it to see if you can get the humidty at the right lvl.

Not to change the subject, but if you want another lizard, a Leo wont need a heat lamp :P so not as much heat, But I know the feeling. Try a computer on 24/7, a tv, and then several lights and flexwatt, and when I have no wind blowing in my windows the fan dont cut it argh lol.

see now part of me wants to wait for Savvi's babies

I dunnnnnoooo..
I brought up the idea today of another snake. My mom said she'll move out if I get one. I said fine, cause then I won't have to move out.
I'll wait a bit cause my birthday (21st bday might I add) is coming up and then ask again Then I'll threaten to move out and my mom (not wanting to loose her oldest child) will give in. That's the plan....
