I was noticing my Water Dragon looked a bit sluggish; she spent an awful lot of time under her log. I have two fluker's thermometers, one on each end of the cage. Then I noticed the one on the cool end appeared to be higher than the one on the warm end! I put in a thermometer that my father uses for his wine cooler to check the temp for accuracy, as for the longest time no matter how I adjusted the position/strength of the bulb, it read around 80, MAYBE ninety.. The actual temperature was 110!! This is 15, 20 degrees higher than a Chinese Water Dragon should have for her basking spot =/

Anyway, what do you people feel are the most accurate thermometers? Now I'm not sure if I can even trust the one from the wine cooler, but I don't want to use that one permanently anyway..

I used digital thermoters from Bigappleherp.com for my Chinese Water Dragon. As well as one to meausre humidity.

mshrmheadcharge does that one plug in or can it run on batteries?
I've been looking around at all the reptile sites and apparently 99.9% of people agree digital is the way to go.

It takes a AA battery if Im remebering correctly. And digital is the best way to go

They had a few digitals at the petshop, but I was on a budget. *grins* I'm currently using the digital thermometer that my father uses to keep his wine cooler under control -he doesn't mind, he's confident the wine won't be spoiled :P

I'll look into getting one of those. (Or two, as the new enclosure is going to be a 270 gallon, a big step up from her 20-gallon :P)
