Flukers Calcium Supplement
Last month took Lilly, my water dragon, to the vet and the vet said she needed more calcium. I bought Flukers calcium supplement and just wanted to say I can see a visible change in her. I think this is a very good product and wanted to share that.

Just make sure there's no D3 or Phosphorous in that calcium supplement, I know I once got fluker's and it had D3 so I had to go online and purchase Repti-Cal.

I use bone-aid. It serves its purpose well.

I could be wrong but I am under the impression that D3 is not a bad thing and if your lizards do not go outside and get direct sunshine can be beneficial. If they go outside, then they could overdose, but in the tiny amount of UVB given by the UVB lights compared to sunlight there is not much chance of overdosing. That being said, I dust with calcium three days a week and vitamin three days and on the seventh day we rest---no dust! Repti-Cal is the brand we use.

D3 is good if it is produced by the lizard by getting UVB lighting. However, from what I understand it is bad if it is added for most reptiles.

Well now I have to go do research and find out for sure! Oh piffle! That is almost exactly opposite what I understood to be true. And just when I thought I had a handle on dusting........

I did a bit of quick research on some non-product selling sites and came up with that once a week D3 in dusting is good or ok depending on the site I visited. No one recommended D3 in drops or high dosages. Also I got the impression that if the herp does not need UVB light then D3 is not recommended. None of the sites recommended D3 for animals that went outdoors. I can't really say that any site whole heartedly recommended or trashed D3 entirely. At this point I plan on changing to only dusting with vitamins once a week and the calcium only dust 5 times a week.
Please don't take this as gospel as I only spent a short bit of time looking. I will do a much better search when I have a bit more time and it is not so late.
